Jei jūsų vaikas pradėjo miofunkcinę terapiją ir išmoktus pratimus turi kartoti namuose, jų pamiršimas nėra tinginystės ar nenoro bendradarbiauti ženklas.
Iš tiesų tai visiškai normalu – ypač vaikams nuo 4 iki 7 metų.
Suprasti, kodėl taip nutinka, yra pirmas žingsnis padedant vaikui sėkmingai tęsti terapiją.

1. Vaikai informaciją įsimena kitaip nei suaugusieji
Maži vaikai labiau pasikliauja vaizdine atmintimi ir imitacija, o ne žodinėmis instrukcijomis.
Kai pratimai paaiškinami vieną kartą terapijos metu, o vėliau užrašomi ant popieriaus, vaikams dažnai sunku prisiminti:
- kaip tiksliai atrodė judesys,
- teisingą seką,
- tinkamą tempą ar laikyseną.
Be vizualinio priminimo pratimas greitai pasimiršta.

2. Terapijos pratimai vaikams neatrodo „prasmingi“
Suaugusieji supranta, kodėl terapija svarbi.
Vaikai – dažniausiai ne, ypač kai rezultatai matomi tik po kelių savaičių ar mėnesių.
Jei pratimas iš karto nesuteikia pažįstamo ar malonaus jausmo, vaikai natūraliai praranda susidomėjimą. Tai ne pasipriešinimas, o natūralus besivystančių smegenų dėmesio paskirstymas

3. Įpročiai dar nėra automatiniai
Suaugusiesiems daugelis įpročių jau susiformavę.
Vaikams įpročius reikia kurti lėtai, per kartojimą ir rutiną.
Įpročių formavimosi tyrimai rodo, kad nuoseklumas ir kontekstas yra svarbesni nei motyvacija. Be aiškios sistemos net ir labai stengiantis sunku išlaikyti kasdienę praktiką.

2. Išlaikykite praktiką trumpą ir nuspėjamą
Svarbiau nuoseklumas, o ne trukmė.
Trumpa kasdienė rutina (5–15 minučių), atliekama tuo pačiu metu kiekvieną dieną, yra daug veiksmingesnė nei ilgos, nereguliarios treniruotės.

3. Sumažinkite emocinį krūvį
Kai praktika rami ir struktūruota, vaikai labiau linkę bendradarbiauti.
Mažesnis spaudimas ir trumpesni paaiškinimai padeda pratimams tapti įveikiamiems, o ne varginantiems.

4. Palaikykite įprotį
Stenkitės pratimus atlikti kasdien tuo pačiu metu – taip lengviau susiformuoja teisingas įprotis.

Namų terapija veikia geriausiai, kai vaikai:
- aiškiai mato, ką reikia daryti,
- jaučiasi skatinami, o ne nuolat taisomi,
- laikosi paprastos, pažįstamos rutinos.
Turint tinkamą struktūrą ir palaikymą, kasdienė praktika tampa lengvesnė – tiek vaikams, tiek tėvams.
